    You should talk to a licensed tax preparation professional, likely a
    CPA. Only the most convoluted situation would require a tax lawyer.

    SC does have an income tax. If you earn money from work in SC, you will
    likely owe SC income tax. Many of the states go to considerable lengths
    to collect income taxes from the professional athletes that play n games
    in their respective states - especially CA and NY.

    Sigh.
