We recently set one up for all of our incoming SMTP traffic (multi-GB
per day) and it works great. We have 2 firewalls with an active/passive
setup using heartbeat to handle failures. It's really easy to set up
and use...if you can use iptables, then LVS is dead simple. We're not
currently using keepalived, but probably will start when HTTP is added
to the LVS. Is there anything in particular you're concerned about?
