[nlug] Is Mandriva Dying?

I'm wondering if Mandriva is dying, or a sign of some other issue.

The mirror I was using form Mandriva updates had gotten rid of the directory, so I figured it was time to look at upgrading to 2008.0. When I went looking, the site I used had gotten rid of ALL their distro mirrors except one (ubuntu I think).

So I went to look at Easy URPMI to see what sites had 2008.0 updates. There were just a handful, and of those some, like carroll.cac.psu.edu, are constantly busy during waking hours. So there are just like two or three accessible ones in the USA.

So is Mandriva dying? Are sites not wanting to provide the bandwidth to Linux distros any more?

    Paul
